About Us

Ashe & Mill was founded by two award winning creatives Paula McGloin and Michael McCarthy. They both love all things local and especially living in Clonakilty town in West Cork.

They were inspired to do something a little different and decided to transform what was previously a solicitor's offices into a new and vibrant creative retail space.
They opened their doors in May 2025 and want to continue to celebrate local stories, culture and heritage in new funky ways through playful art and gifts.

The name 'Ashe & Mill' subtly brings attention to the history of the town. The name of the street (of course!) Ashe Street, and the old name for the street 'Mill Street'. A nod to the town's industrious past, 'Elsmore's' linen mill which was historically located nearby.

Designer and illustrator Paula works away in the studio at the back of the shop creating greetings cards, stationery, stunning art and exclusively made, gifts unique to Ashe & Mill.
